I realise this is a long time after the event, but there's an option
within Videolan's VLC allowing you to view these "3D" videos as
Anaglyph 3D
That turns the double image into a pair of overlaid images in red /
cyan, correct aspect ratio, reduced resolution.
There are options under advanced preferences to choose a different
pair of colors.
Of course you then need to wear a pair of tacky but cheap 3D glasses -
and monitor output is rarely satisfactory. Or you need a graphics card
that supports 3D output to TV via HDMI.
