Those are three different functions. For joining, and shrinking of
files (yes I know you didn't ask about that. L:) ) I have found
Mediacoder to be quite good. Once I specified that the target output
was for Android devices to match my tablet. That said the developer
is a money hungry asshole because his website features all kinds of
advertising and it's really hard to pick out the genuine download
links.
Frequently a 2 or 4 Gb video file will shrink down about 75% or more
and yet there is no perceptible difference in video quality.
