in addition I have the posting tutorial I wrote up several years ago.
Be patient with it, it does discuss making rars and pars which you
already know how to do.

The first thing you need are a few utilities.
I presume you have winrar, but if not get it from here:

You also need a par program...I use quickpar. The link is:

For posting the files, nothing beats a good posting prog.
I now use Camelsystems Powerpost instructions and a

If you want to make previews of the video (up to you, but recomended) The simplest way
I have found is with media player classic:

There is a program I use more frequently calle Video Thumbnails maker.The big advantages to this one is it allows for processing of multiple videos in a batch.

In the environment section, uncheck the VTX and check classic (for other viewers) then select jpg. That way the previews are in jpg format.
Now on to how to split those files for posting.
Open winrar and click on the wizzard.
Select create a new archive, then select the file. In the next window
click browse and select the folder to create the archive in. Then
click next. In the dropdown box select the size of each part of the
archive. I use 1,457,664 - 3.5".
Click finish and the file will be split in apporx 1.4MB parts. Use a
larger size for larger posts.
Now we need to par those baby's in case something happens to go wrong
in the posting process.
Open quick par and click add files. Browse to the location of the rar
parts made in the previous step. Select ONLY the rar pieces.
Set the redundancy to 25% or so to be safe. I have recently decreased
this to 20% to save on posting time.
Click create to make the pars.
You may then click verify to ensure everything is ok.
IF you want to make a preview...open the file with media player clasic
and select file, save thumbnails. From there select where to save the
file and re-name it if you wish.
The last part is the actual posting.
In Powerpost click on view, then progran settings.
Enter your news server settings. (ie. news.giganews.com and your login
and password.
Put your nic ect in the headers tab.
Add groups in the newsgroup tab.
Then you can click files and add files to queue. Add the files (rars,
pars and preview)
Then put in the header info, go to the newsgroups tab and select the
group and click OK.
From the binaries 4 all site you can create NZB files to post along
with if you like. The instructions are on the site as well.
Then file...start posting.
If someone wants to add a section on creating sample vids, please do
so. I have just been using a sample .jpg.
