I believe any browser could connect to a BBS portal.
Nestscape was the one I used. I do not rememmber using a specific
program, I was about to say app ;-)
If you needed any specific informatiion about a subject, a users manual,
windows help, microchip specs, computer system specs, etc. you went to a
specific BBS.
