IME, the number of filters does not slow Agent down.

In fact it speeds up the d/l of headers.
Taking time to learn about 'regular expressions' was a
worthwile endeavour for me, and there are many very
helpful tutors out there.
The Agent regx tutorial, in the 'help' file is an excellent place to
start.
There is a plethora of tutorials and info online too.
