For me, using QuickPar to split AND create Pars is an easy one step
operation. Further, I've found that now nearly everyone is using a
premium news provider, the splits can be really large, say 100M per
split. This reduces header pollution - the number of headers to
collect reduces the time needed to collect headers. Some newsgroups
now contain millions of headers making collection time consuming.
So far my posts have been complete and most folk don't even need the
Pars. This is a far cry from years ago when any split > 10M wouldn't
propagate the news chains. But that might be because there are far
fewer newshosts than before.
