E.G.,
I am sorry. When I read (today) what I wrote, it was not clear, my bad.
Here's a re-do...
Basically, I confused you with my failure to clearly differentiate between
nzb's and abe rar archives. I misused these terms and probably should not
have mentioned nzb's at all.
My bad. :(
Yes, I am fully aware of Kleverig's role. I use it frequently.
Something changed there recently...
instead of just using their obfuscated filename in "Binsearch" to get to a
rar archive, now most Kleverig obfuscated files
offered me, when run through Binsearch, give me another obfuscated file to
run through Binsearch a 2nd time to
finally give me a rar archive to download/decompress thru my newsreader.
Those download/decompress
operations go successfully.
The good news is, I am not asking about this, I just wanted to
re-state/clarify what I said earlier.
What I am asking about is the zillions of rar archives found daily in abe
and abme --
just by going to the newsgroupsdirectly without first being re-routed
through Kleverig.
I used to (several months ago, and for 30 years) be able to
download/decompress these newsgroup
files, back in the day of clear filenames and nowadays with all the
obfuscation... resulting in a decompressed mp4.
Some of them asked for a password, which I ignored.
But NOW, every single time I download/decompress one of those random
obfuscated rar archives
in the newsgroups (w/o Kleverig first), I invariably get an error message
saying the rar archive is damaged
and it always (always) stops on the first part... part01. Its 'as though' I
now need a password or something else (??),
that I don't have, and thus am stopped.
Its also as though I am about to discover why this is happening but have not
done so yet. Thus I ask you.
If restated in far fewer words, I used to be able to download/decompress
right in the newsgroups but now cannot.
The only way I am successful is to go thru Kleverig first, leading me to
some nzb in some nzb group (not abe etc.).
This happened at the same time I perceived a change on Kleverig.
I read help files on Kleverig and found something about nzbs within nzbs
that only "SABnzbd" could operate on both nzbs
automatically, and insert passwords when required. I was, however, able to
do this manually with my "Newsrover".
So, I know a lot... but I sure don't understand it, and cannot yet put it
all together.
What do you know about all this?
Thanks!
Dave
