Hmmm... I see way more good news than bad here.

We all want to minimize fiddle faddle. I just wonder if trying
to get Unison, now unsupported, working with older versions is
a good way to do that. And even if you succeed, I wonder for
how long before things head south yet again.

 Consider the alternative.

 * Virtualbox is a Mac app.
 * gxs is willing to supply Windows 7 completely free.
 * QuickPar & PowerPost then run on Windows in a Mac window.
 * The "look and feel" of both systems are so similar they are
 essentially indistuishable.
 * Everything is FREE.
 * I've used Virtualbox, QuickPar, & PowerPost and they are as
easy to use as they are reliable.

It's hard to see how you could do better than this. No dual
boot, no messing with the OS. Simplicity itself.

This is an amazing gesture from gxs and I urge you to accept
it. Install everything and play around with things when you
have the time. The PBS shows may be winding down now, but
they'll be starting again soon and when they do, you'll have
 all your bases covered.
