I ultimately did install a VPN and an adblocker and coin blocker on my
browser and accessed Pirate Bay safely and successfully a time or two,
although I was never able to register (they'd take my login/PW and say to
watch my email for a confirming message, but it never came). But that
site seems to be down for the past few days with the message:
