Thousands of miles away from that famous loch in Scotland, in a sleepy
Canadian town called Glenorky, legend has it that another mythical monster
hides in the depths of the local lake... What you are about to discover is
that the legend is real!
Radio psychologist Jack Black takes his children, Joshua and Ashley, on a
'vacation' to a lake in British Columbia. While he grinds away at work, the
children discover that the famous local lake monster, "Orky," may not be just
a gimmick to attract tourists after all. In fact, Orky may enable them to
get closer to their workaholic dad, and help stop local polluters who are
dumping toxic waste into Orky's home.

I still haven't watched this one, but in skipping through on at least three
occasions making screenshots for various postings, I can tell that it is a
bit silly, a bit hokey, but overall will be a good watch :)
The promos for the film include a quote from Movie Guide which say "An E.T.-
Like Fantasy for the Family," trying to ride the coattails and cash in on the
fame of that classic film. The only real correlation I can see between the
two movies is in the blatant product-placement (Coca-Cola in "E.T.", Oreo
cookies in this one)...
And as far as Cuties are concerned, while I think that Joshua Jackson is
quite fetching as a teen, folks, he's no Henry Thomas. And not to neglect
Willie Nark-Orn, who plays Hiro, -- definitely a bundle of cuteness :love:
Also, don't miss the little guy in the cowboy hat, driving the land-locked
boat, and the two brothers out 'fishing' on the lake (if I were a fish and
saw two shirtless Cuties like them, I'd be jumping in their boat, too!
