A single father balances his work as an attorney with the care of Cal, his
5-year-old son, and his work as a high school basketball coach in rural
Kansas, where he moved after his wife abandoned him and the boy in Chicago.
Just as he starts to develop a new relationship with a veterinarian's assist-
ant, his ex-wife suddenly reappears and wants to reassert herself in her
husband and son's life.
On top of the romantic conflict, he is also suddenly presented with the oppor-

Bobby Moat is one of those little fellas that are so incredibly cute and
endearing, and that evoke such strong feelings in me...
The movie is predictable, and will really hold no surprises for anyone, but I
enjoyed it (heh heh - I've 'enjoyed' it three times so far :-P ).
It's a total miscarriage of justice that Bobby only appeared in this, a Short
Film named "Love Gets You Twisted" (that I haven't been able to track down a
copy of), and one episode of "Third Watch" where he got a grand total of 35
seconds of screentime and two lines, "What?" and "I'm not through..." :(
I am also posting an untouched 20th Century Fox DVD that came courtesy of our
friend Jolan, because it is Fullscreen (for those who want to see more groin
and forehead :-P ), has a couple of Trailers, and features English and Spanish
subtitles.
While creating screenshots for this copy for a Blog post, I was struck by what
a difference there is in the Widescreen and Fullscreen editions. It's amazing
to see just how much horizontal data is lost in the Fullscreen, and how much
vertical data is missing from the Widescreen...
Hilarious Moment
At the 23:02 mark, Russell, Beth and Cal are in the diner eating, and Cal
drops his hamburger down the front of him and has to go to the restroom to get
cleaned off. When he comes back, this conversation transpires...
Beth: Do you smell something? (whispering) Kinda like pee.
let me see ya a second, c'mere, c'mere, buddy. (whispering) Did
you wet your pants?
Calvin: No!
Russell: Well, what's this, then, all over you? (pulls a Urinal Cake out
of Cal's pocket) A urinal cake!?
Beth: (chuckling) Oh my god.
Russell: Why do you have a urinal cake on you?
Calvin: It was in there, and we don't have one.
Beth: You know what, sweetie? I don't have one in my bathroom, either.
Calvin: You want this one?
Beth: (chuckles) No thank you.
