I haven't had a chance to download this, I saw the mkv in apba but
didn't get a chance to download it yet either. Was the srt also
separately included in the archive so I can check it? And is this the
DVD you mentioned in email (or did you mean the other one you'd asked
if I wanted)?
I don't know about unicode, just that I can't save some in txt format,
and as srt is a txt format, it does make sense that it won't save in
unicode, however, I've seen Russian srt subtitle files and to my
knowledge, that's unicode, so I hope you aren't as confused as I am by
this sentence.
Sorry I can't be much help, but I suppose it's for the best. I've seen
too many DVDs whose structure was altered by adding subtitles (while
it doesn't affect the video directly, the information adding them does
something to the DVD that is way beyond me, nor do I really have the
intellectual acuity left to learn something that complex.
However, there are some folks out there who do virtually professional
work with DVDs (thinking of one in particular, who doesn't come online
often, but I'll try to remember to ask this of him when I see him next
- but I'm sure there are others)
