Oh that explains it then, so the answer to your question is yes, the
cache (download queue) was cleared each time.
I do appreciate your efforts to help me, I`m growing quite accustomed
to things that work well for others not working for me. The whole
web-cloud-sky-cyberlocker-etc thing was just starting when I had to
quit some 10 years ago, and in the year I`ve been back I`ve never
fully figured it out - FRD and JD were totally new to me - it just
seems to me to be the hard way of doing things, although Usenet is
probably the hard way of doing things to other people. I (vaguely)
remember finding Usenet difficult in comparison to what I was doing
before (F-serves on IRC and ICQ) but I guess it`s what a person is
used to.
I`m determined to figure this out, though, but I should put a pin in
it for today, just to keep the frustration factor at bay.
What frustrates me is my ISP blocking all the download hosts and now
(as of about a week ago, it even blocks TWB - I can only access it via
Tor which I now hear is unsafe. On the plus side, the local coffee
shops have free wi-fi and it`s faster than either my ISP or my
grandson`s. So I think I`ll just use TWB when I`m out for a coffee,
gather txt files of download links, then go on my grandson`s cable
(when RS was working, it was going at a whopping 2-3k downloads, the
cable in this area is just soooooo choked. My DSL was getting RS
downloads at 5-6k before RS got blocked.
