I'm sorry I do not know what GOM stands for.
Does it mean "Grand Ole Monopoly" ??? ;)
Does your player have a setting that will "preload mkv files"
or some other such setting?
Anyway, I imagine it might be two possibilities:
(1) the DVD itself is in PAL format, and the mkv software
simply is copying the DVD tracks straight to the mkv files.
(We frown greatly upon any recoding at all whatsoever.)
(Read the NFOs for why this is so, and prepare for doing
research on long-ago discussions in other groups.
BTW simple remuxing [stuffing into another container
etc.] is ok with us, but we still need a method to try
thwarting the *AA folks, meaning no "dvd images" nor
"vob files" and such.)
(2) The first episode does have a noticable glitch burned-in near
the end of that episode -- it's seen/heard as a ~1-second delay of
the audio there, right as Mr Jones is talking thru Rachel's bedroom
patio sliding glass door. I have two copies of this title, from two
different vendors from "down-under", and both copies exhibit this
exact same anomaly, even while watching from a standalone DVD
player (designed for both NTSC and PAL playback). But this
glitch in the mkv file does not cause anything I use for
testing/playing to become jerky as you say.
Anyway, further information are in the associated NFO files (which
are there for a very important reason). I can't possibly be testing
every app ever made under the sun, and I forbid myself to ever use
any system involved with the m$ scheme (which might be what you are
using, I honestly don't know), sorry. But we /are/ trying to adopt
new standards that are already widely accepted, ISTM.
And I should explain: We've directed the "Followup-To" to go
to the alt.fan.dvd group. Too much to digress-into to explain
why I've selected that group for discussing our postings.
Basically, no-one has joined our initial thread on a.f.t.i's,
there are mounds of filthy fishy pr0n in our usual binary group,
and we want to use groups that are widely carried by most
usenet providers worldwide, etc. This means I must hush-up on
the usual t-i banter.<g>
p.s. my email addy works after minor de-obfuscation of the Reply-To field.
:)
