Oh I get it now. The fact that you applied in the first place doesn't
mean you're real. Any ol' phantom can do that! Listen, if you're going
to use Usenet, why not use it the traditional way. And you being such
an experienced old-timer, I'm sure you know what that is. You have
something you want to share with people, so you post it to an
appropriate newsgroup. No passwords; no mandatory giving up email
addresses; no requirement to go on the Internet to get the thing,
thereby exposing your IP address... Just plain old-fashioned sharing
freely in the name of good will. I know Usenet is riddled with virus
and malware peddlers now. But most of their posts require passwords,
and most of them require your email address to get what they've posted
too, eh? The company you keep...
