First of all, I'd like to apologize for the posts to this group, those
should not happen and instead be posted to a.b.mp3.abooks, which is a
group, that had been dead for two years, before I took over posting in
there. Sometimes new members are overly eager and make mistakes. The
moment i catch those, I let them know and ask them not to do it again.
But I can monitor this group 24/7.
That said, if we were after peoples email addresses and IP addresses so
badly, wouldn't it be better for us to just have an open registration, so
that everybody can join and we can get even more email addresses to sell
and even more IP adresses to fuck people over?
It is a closed community where nothing illegal is hosted, all that is on
the site is info about audiobooks and how to get access to them. There
are no Nzb files attached to the posts, so nobody will be able to see who
actually downloaded which Nzb file and even then, it's just an Nzb file
download, not an actually file download.
All that said, if you sign up for a site like that with your work email
address and surf without a proxy or a VPN, you almost deserve to get
busted.
Almost everybody who is active in binary groups has a paid Usenet
account, which is traceable either via payment or IP address, unless it
was paid via Bitcoin or something equally anonymous over an anonymous
Proxy or VPN. Every post has an x-trace header with your user info in it
and if your provider doesn't do x-trace headers, then be sure posts are
logged in other ways.
It's much more likely, that you will get busted via your usenet provider
than via abook.ws, but to each their own, I guess.
All we do is provide access to a niche. There are plenty of other Usenet
indexers and forums around, that do the exact same thing, many have been
there longer than abook.ws.
You don't like what we do? That's alright with me, it's not for everyone
and I get that. But there's really no reason to badmouth us, just because
you are paranoid and don't know how to use the internet anonymously. That
is not our problem.
For the rest, check out email providers like protonmail or tutanota for
anonymous secondary accounts and use a VPN or TOR, if you use any warez
site at all.
