gerhard the files arein the correct order but the ID tags are not, you
will have to change them yourself.

I obviously didn't use a playback methd which uses ID tags. I know most portable devices do
use ID tags and for some reason the track numbers in the ID tags as posted are all skewiff.
I use a prog called Mp3Tag which can edit all the ID tags of an audiobook together. At first
glance Mp3tag can look complicated - because its just full of info, but in this case the fix
is easy.
Using this prog I first put the audiobook (all audio files) under investigation into its own
folder then change Mp3Tag to that folder (file/change directory) then edit away. In this
case there are quite a few inaccuracies, most of which don't matter at all BUT the "Track"
column is muddled and I think the Mp3 readers use this column. The fix is simple, highlight
ALL of the files (click top line, hold SHIFT then click bottom line) then merely click the
"auto-Numbering" button (towards the RHS of the button-icons - hover til it shows). It
renumbers the tracks sequentially 1 to 22 to match the filenames.Fixed!
Unfortunately I haven't re-cut the book for each file to start with chapter number - which
would help here. If you cannot sort this out, I suggest you try - its the way to learn :), I
will repost in chapter chunks - let me know.
