FWIW 48 K sample rate will reproduce 24KHz. FM radio has a pass band
of 20 KHz. AM Radio is 5 KHz. Voice rolls off at below 3KHz. That
has me re sampling a lot of the big stuff to 12 KB @ 30 or 50 KB/s
with no discernable difference. I only do mono as I only use one ear
to listen.
