I've just spent over an hour creating proof photos for the next batch of CDs I have lined up tp post. I notice that not all of the regular posters bother with such things anymore, so am I wasting time that could be put to better use?
I know the practice was started  with the hope of weeding out the sort of idiots who would simply convert downloaded mp3 files to flac & post them on the groups, by at least having them show proof that they actually had a copy of the CD in their hands. Not forgetting the base villains who change tags to make it look like they're sharing their own work.
I recently borrowed a batch of CDs, not all of which I had time to take proof photos for, so those  at least will be posted without. For what it's worth, I never post anything I didn't rip myself, except if I have something someone requested & in those cases I would always annoy out resident troll by marking them NMR. :D
I can't say I ever bother to check if a poster has included a proof photo before downloading.

Yes, this does mean there are new posts coming soonish!
