Jimmy. this is what i'm doing i have followed your steps. this is what i do i create a new document txt file on my desktop i then open truecrypt and select create volume then i select create an encrypted container, then i choose standard truecrypt volume then it asks for volume location i then select file and choose the txt file i created on the desktop truecrypt then says a file already exists and then it overwrites that file and creates a truecrypt volume. maybe what i'm doing wrong seems to be at the beginning creating a container
