They are obligated do 110 shows each year, at a max of 3 per week,
that's 3 out of every 10 weeks when they are "dark" (Gary term).
Such a contrast to the older days (1994) where a max of 9 1/2 people
(Billy West was part time) worked on the show 5 days a week for easily
45 weeks per year. And they churned out hysterical bits, parodies
and interviews non stop. With content and language restrictions!
Last week they polled some 38 people currently the working in the
group!
This repeated "panel" format is a new quirk I don't know what to make
of. Take back office workers and make them on air personalities at
clerical wages? For 2 1/2 hours? Sounds like the ultimate in
coasting & laziness.
Its a vastly different show for sure...
