Just in case you didn't see my earlier post:
The "broken" parts aren't. They are smaller than the others because I
included multiple-files (the PDF of the book and a ZIP file containing
the CD-tracks in MP3 format) in a single post. The "small" part is
where the first file ended.
If you join all the parts into a single whole, your newsreader will
decode them correctly.
In other words, though it looks weird, it works.
But I've taken the lesson to heart: in future, make separate posts for
each individual file: it's less confusing that way ;-)
