Sorry. It's been frustrating dealing with that one.

As you point out, all the authoring screw-ups are exasperating.

In this one, VTS_01_5.VOB blows up spectacularly when you (I)
try to do anything with it in an editor.

Maybe it's just me, but I doubt it.
