Here is the skinny on Release Dates in general:
The release date is NOT the copyright date. If a picture was made in 1975 and
sat on the shelf until 1980 before it was shown to the public, its release date
would be 1980.
'Le roi de coeur' was first released in France on 21 December 1966.
'King of Hearts' was first released in the USA on 19 June 1967.
The release date is when a film is first shown to the public in a theatrical
venue. Each change of the title has a new release date.
I would title the above film:
Le roi de coeur (1966) [The King of Hearts]
The Aka would state: The King of Hearts (1967)
