J. Thanks for your reply.
After I tried the .nzb route, I went old fashioned, dusted off X-News
and downloaded the headers. Even though the headers for this movie
appeared complete on Astraweb's server, the same files that I could not
get by using the .nzb proved once again to be empty.
This is an Astraweb problem rather than a problem with the original
posting. When this sort of thing happens, as it does from time to time,
then I simply find fills from my backup ISP. The problem with
Jungfrukallen is that it is now beyond the retention limit of my backup.
This is not a huge problem. The Criterion world is a fairly small planet
that will, in time, revolve. Jungfrukallen will be posted once again and
I will relive the sight of Max Von Sydow dripping in blood, horrific
when I first saw it many years ago. I'll save my Gigabite trial
membership for something rare that I am really lusting after - Bergman's
Ansiktet, for instance, or any of the films of the Hungarian director
Miklos Jansco, to name a few from a very long list.
I am glad that this group exists to satisfy the cravings of "Criterion
whores". Whoever they are, they should know that they are not alone.
