Or....it may simply be a case of.....this is what Ribble has in his
collection library. Perhaps he's not ripping his own from scratch, but
posting what he previously collected. Back in the day when slower
connections called for smaller files. If he downloaded and built his
own collection in that era, that's what was available.
If he has ripped from his own originals previously, I still wouldn't
expect him to redo all his work. Nice if he did / could, but having
done a bit of ripping and file converting myself, it can be a
time-consuming project.
In any event, as Spike said, better to have a less-than-optimal copy
than to have no copy at all. Recalling Spike's previous upload of Eyes
on the Prize in VCD format and later seeing the pricetag for the full
DVD set on the PBS tteacher's website, I decided that the VCD quality
post wasn't so bad after all.
