Do you know much/anything about Sata Multipliers ?
I bought a new PC about a year ago and then realised I had bought one
with (only) 4 SATA connections on the Motherboard, the unit (Vantage
Case) is capable of holding 4 x DVD/Blu-Ray drives and 6 x Hard
Drives.
I have (in the unit)...
2 x DVD and 1 x Blu-Ray drives
5 x Hard Drives
8 Units into 4 Connections doesn't go !
I didn't know about SATA Multipliers, and still dont know much about
them.
I have a spare PCI X1 slot and a PCI X16 slot on the Motherboard.
Do you have any advise on what I should be looking to buy to get the
other drives connected up ?
I would sooner use the X1 slot if that will do the job alright, but
would use the X16 slot IF their is much of a performance gain.
I have looked around on Google but can't find any advise that points
me to the right thing to be looking at buying, so thought that I would
just check with You
And the group before I go and buy a 'Lemon'.
Even a link to an informative website will do... I don't mind doing my
own research :)
Thanks for any help.
