The group/individual who posts this stuff is posting it in dozens of
newsgroups. The ab.dvd.classics has become a major magnet, as has the
ab.hdtv.x264 group. It also shows up in british drama, sometimes the
anime, and several other groups.
They don't care where it goes. It's an attempt to throw the DCMA
hounds off the scent by cockeyed names and wildly off-topic groups.
Apparently, the 'in-crowd' knows how to decipher the titles and gets a
pointer to what's where, but the other 99.99% of Usenet users are
simply inconvenienced by the nonsense. The stuff seems to be current
television shows, some network, some cable.
They ought to simply set up a private group and post to it. Being
private, it wouldn't show up in the Usenet list of newsgroups, nor
would it be cataloged by NZB search enginess. An ideal solution to
stay under the radar, but one they apparently don't want to utilizie,
preferring this goofy childish approach instead.
Fortunately, it's easy to recognize and manually delete.
