Wow ! What a story.
It must have been hard for you as well over the years, knowing that
something like this was in his mind and he couldn't share it with
anyone... even You !
But when he eventually DID... I'm guessing that you Then realised Why
he didn't share it with anyone !?
You didn't even go into detail about what he went through but you said
enough to let people know just How Bad things were for the Military
back in World War II and Afterwards. The Many casualties and people
that suffered as a result.
Most talk about the Death it caused, nevermind the lives that it
changed forever for the servicemen And their families Forever... when
they survive.
Looks like you take after your Dad in the way you wrote it :)
Anyways...
I'm not sure that 'Grommy' is a regular here/there or anywhere, so I'm
not sure if you will get a reply from him (I might be wrong, I just
don't see him posting much anymore). :)
I'm surprised if he only posted part of the 'Victory at Sea' series,
but all I can find of his posting is an 'nfo' file from 44 days ago...
so I don't know what he posted to be honest.
(which refers to episodes 1 through 9).
I'm not sure what sort of rez/version/format 'Grommy' posted but all I
have is the full 26 episodes on a 4GB DVD, which has the episodes as
about 160MB each... a size often frowned at these days !
Let me know where you are up to with the series and I will post the
rest (unless someone else has better) :)
