Don't be daunted by the long spiel... ! It's mostly explanation of how
you got where you are. Easy fixed!
After more asking around (some ant dusting) and getting the answer I
needed last night, I have since studied the instructions pic I sent
you, trying to see why you picked the option that is going awry.
There are TWO options in the instructions for setting File Path, and
you chose the first one. As would any newbie, don't take it to heart!
The instructions are a little vague (hands over head /tremble) if you
are not sure why you are doing something and what will happen if you
choose the other option. (A big mess! /laff)
File Path is how WinRar interprets how you want the files to unpack.
Within the original folder, or as separate entities.
The good thing is - now you know what happens and will see straight
away in the future if something doesn't unpack inside the correct
folders.
I have isolated where (I think) you got caught up and have attached a
pic to show you. My writing is in pink.
It is the third and fourth pics out of the set of split rar'ing
instructions. They give you the option of choosing one or the other,
you should have chosen the other one!! /grin
I honestly never noticed before that you had a choice in there. I
don't think that is very newbie friendly and I will take it up with
Management..... /laff!!
As a short explanation, "Do not store path" is best displayed by what
you were getting before. No files in any folders. Because you had
selected it not to remember what order it was packed.
Bloody unfriendly option if you ask me...!
This option is for rar'ing separate files (no folders).
It is NOT for folders with files inside folders.
Eg 10 separate hus files and/or pics (no folders).
"Store relative paths" is for when you have a selection of folders
containing files within them and you want them to STAY in those
folders when unpacked. WinRar needs the "store path" instruction
ticked so it can put them back where they belong.
This I have as a default. I haven't toggled it from "Store" back to
"Do not store" just because I only selected a dozen single files.
(Just quietly, I'm not sure why the option to "not" store is there if
"store" works for a bunch of single files just the same).
So you need to toggle it back to "Store relative paths".
You need to make this permanent, otherwise you will have to select
that option every time you rar a bunch of folders.
I would delete the old and create a whole new Profile, as you have not
set it back correctly when you stopped split posting. Picture files
and pdfs you posted were returning an error message before they
opened. They were there, don't panic, WinRar was just having a bit of
a time with them.

Hopefully your WinRar program has the options as set out below.
Open the WinRar program, choose
Options/Settings/Compression tab/ and under Compression Profiles you
can see a button Organize (under Create Default).
For a clean slate you can delete the one you created and do the
Create Profile process again, choosing Store Relative Paths this time.
So!! All you have to do is create a new profile and choose Store
Relative Paths and all your files will be in the correct folders that
you selected.
I will be careful to make note of this "double instruction" when
posting the tips again. It has been one of those instances where too
much information is perhaps just too much information!!
I will find out later why "Do not store path" is a good thing.
Looks useless to me!!
But I am sure it is very useful..... to someone, somewhere.....

I hope you do set your profile back to split rar'ing.
This hiccup is very easily fixed and the rars were splitting
perfectly.
If someone doesn't get a part when posted, then you only have to post
that part again. I keep my split rars (that I post) for about a week,
just in case someone doesn't get them. That way, that part of the rar
is exactly what was sent and won't conflict.
Hope you understand now what was "not right" (I can't say "wrong"
because the other command is legit) and I will make note of the
conflicting instructions.
Ok Ladies, now you can ALL do it!!!! /grin
