Are you an attbi customer that's been moved to Comcast? Comcast is
dropping all usenet service a week from today, and pointing its users
to Giganews. I would imagine that their usenet service at this point
is less than perfect!

You will be needing a new newsserver; some options, depending on what
you need, include

APN from ForteInc, the makers of Agent - from $3 / mo.
Teranews - from a one-time $3 setup fee up
Giganews - I think from $10 up
Easynews - I think from $10 up

What you need depends on

   quantity per month
retention - if you go away for months at a time and want to see
everything you missed, you need a server with long retention. Easynews
offers more retention for additional cost, for example
reliability - Teranews is inexpensive, but has occasional outages
and missed posts.
