"bludging" off others.

Moving forward to today I expand on my "never will be" statement,
in telling you why you got responses from myself on your digitising
project.
In 2004 I published the biography you did read. It is public record.
What was not in that document was "how I got there".
I provide that information now, as support for my statement "never
will be" .
Entering the workforce after a solid education interrupted by "on farm
needs", I gained a trade qualification, to then begin a business in a
service industry. I started with little money, a vehicle discarded by
my FIL, and restored by myself. All of that and the skills of Life I
had accrued up to that time.
Poorly equipped was I, but determined.
I was not to repeat the mistakes of my heritage in ending Life as a
"bog farmer".
I studied intensively in the time I had left in a day after work and
completed a tertiary qualification in my chosen field.
A lot of that required attendance at University and great hardship for
my fledging family. In time the business flourished. By 38 I had my
first million in the pocket, and 16 good and willing employees
to go with it, as a Life investment.
The late 80's saw most of that demolished in the overseas loans
debacle and 22% interest rates. I started again, with the remnants of
the rendered down business. By age 50 I was able to sell the business
to an employee 'syndicate', and, together with wise investments, well
heeled to enjoy a full Life well into my "sundown years".
I chose instead to join a community focused bureaucracy in primarily
helping those with even less advantage than I had when I started out
in the workforce. Bureaucracies being what they are in this Country
the 'jaunt' was shortlived. So, at 53, I retired to "life on the
farm", a dream of a "Greenacres" lifestyle being rewards for a Life
well spent "earning".
[Minus the dotty spouse (Eva Gabor), my partner is one clued-up lady,
and as determined as I in her own Life.]
Avoiding the GFC (from lessons learnt in the late 80's), today I enjoy
a fully enriched lifestyle with little else to do but amuse myself
with various entities around Usenet.
You, Fritz, are one of those few.

The difference in ABCP is one where I am indeed "out of my depth"
when addressing sewing issues. I have never pretended to know more
than I do, and, as said many many times, I am well entrenched in
"newbie school" when it comes to digitising.. but I do try. That, and
I hold respect for those that do know better and do spend their time
in bending my vision down the correct road.
There is where YOU fail, and where the "why" is for folks like Pixie
to have influence over me.
