Erika,
I was not trying to cause you any trouble or grief. When I brought up the
re posting issue, I was only trying to say that I had posted some designs
earlier, so I was asking you to do a search for them. I was not implying
in any way that it was you. I just wanted you to have the other designs.
Because girl....we are two of a kind...Halloween is MY holiday for sure. I
am new to Usenet and I am trying to learn the ways of this group. I
noticed that someone had asked for a Pfaff design that I recall was posted
earlier. When I did a search for it, it was the exact same person who
requested that very same design set in May. That was my pet peeve.
If we try to take the advice of the veterans of the group, we all learn
from it. Hell, I didn't even know what top posting, or banner posting was
when I first started reading here. I had no clue what a header was, or what
I was supposed to be looking for when I read one. But as I looked at each
post when a veteran pointed it out, I figured it out. I'm sure I don't
always do things correctly, but I'm trying. Sometimes I forget to change
my settings, and I'm sure I don't always reply to a post correctly.
I try not to take things personally. If I want to learn, then I have to
pay attention. The real Hopper may be very blunt and straight forward, but
he knows his stuff. And he seems very willing to help those who truly want
to learn. It's our job to listen to the advice. For me, at first, the
tutorials for this group were hard to understand, because I had never even
heard of the Usenet before. I had no idea what it was all about. As I
read more here, I learn. Maybe not as quickly as some, but I learn. To
the veterans of the group, some of the "rules" of posting may seem very
basic. But to a newbie like myself, it was confusing. Please don't give
up on requesting designs. When someone requests a set, it helps us all.
And especially so for people like me who are just starting to build our
collections.
My apologies for getting this stirred up.
