mmmmm... pauline, you got your troubles :-/
That being the case (not being able to find posts using
links) you are in real trouble on many a front.
Just to point to a few I _know_ you will or have
experienced.
1. You are missing out on many posts made to ABCP.
2. Your feedback on what you post yourself will be/is
lost to you.
3. You wont see the help given you.
.. and there will be more problems, for sure.

The problem is not Windows 7.
I am very sure you have _never_ had the full experience
of newsgroup reading and posting.
As millions of computer users have discovered, the
"mail" function of Windows is hopeless, the "news"
function of that mail program "Outlook Express/Live
Mail" is worse, crippled totally -- being kind in my
description.
I cannot help you with mail setup in this newsgroup.
I can help you with News, though.
The two things you need to do (immediately) to get
yourself sorted out are:
1. Get a newsreader, load the program and get learning
how to use it. There are full tutorials posted here in
ABCP.
Look for "Help files for
newbies----Usenet[ABCP]ToolStash"
A trusted WWW link for contemporary versions of Agent
is here:
http://www.forteinc.com/agent/faq.php
2. Get a news provider (NSP). These are excellent
hosts:
http://www.sonic-news.com/
https://www.forteinc.com/apn/subscribe.php
http://www.news.astraweb.com/signup.html
Until you get both those things straightened out you
can post REQs till the cows come home, only getting
to wring your hands with the little success you will
experience.
At least two others have tried helping you with your
REQ for the patch... have you seen those posts?
No.
As an aside...?
Do you know things are about to get a whole lot more
confusing for you?
Cox is dropping Usenet altogether this month.
This means you will logon one day shortly and (to you)
the Group (ABCP) will be "gone".
The sad part of that is it wont be ABCP (but you) that
disappears.
I know this as we lost many a subscriber last year when
Verizon ceased providing News to their customers.
>Have a great day and thanks
>
You have some busy days in front of you IF you decide
to help yourself.. the Group can only do so much, the
rest is up to you.
Have a fun day and holler if there is more anyone here
can do.. and watch the thread :-)
cheers
