The work is well worth that effort you made, thanks.
There remains a few problems which -- only to help us
in getting past the language differences -- I have
detailed using pictures.
The first and maybe most important to ABCP is the
posting using yEnc format.
This format creates difficulty for some readers.
I have attached <NR_SetPostingFormat.jpg>
for NewsRover showing you the setup for UUencode - the
best format for ABCP.
For the rest of the problems?
Might I just say this as a general comment?
I downloaded and installed NewsRover so as
to help you out. After reviewing how NR works it is my
opinion this program does far more than you will ever
need for ABCP and indeed much more than is
easy to understand and configure.
Short version? NewsRover is an overly complicated
program as a posting tool. It is built for downloading
and that it likely does very well - with a few "tweaks"
for individual setups/computers.
What is attached are screens I have found which you
would be advised to study and change to the settings I
recommend.
One problem I cannot find a way to overcome (so far) is
the way NR "embeds" the text message with the first
article of a post. It should be separate, so a member
can read your text message without having to download
the binary file to "get it".
How that is fixed, or can be even, I do not know.
I have also included a comparative view of NR and agent
for about the same message list.
I see here why it has been so hard to "talk" with you.
You are not seeing the messages, at least not "in
context". This is a very bad feature for a newsreader
accessing binary groups which also hold discussion text
posts. You are missing out on a lot.. and have done for
the years you have been using NR..
IF you could please view the screens and do the changes
this will be a good start.. if you must use NR.
I do understand Giganews as a provider promote using
these tools. Remember, GN is only concerned about
downloading. GN does not give a hoot for posters.
You would be well used to using NR so I have assumed
you do know how to get to these screens. IF I have that
wrong just follow-up/reply-to this post with any
questions.
