Taking umbrage at my banner post comment is not the
reason you made this " I yam outa here" post, nor I
suspect is there any actual intent of leaving, however,
contrary to what you may have read I am not a mind
reader as such so I let all that go and only make this
recommendation.
Think about why you came to Usenet, and ABCP in
particular, there is the reason you will stay.
On other matters...
You rightly point out elsewhere it was my pointers on
posting you followed to succeed in getting content
uploaded. As fine as that is there is no implied
obligation by myself to mentor you, or anyone else I
provide direction for. I will help where I see someone
struggling and I will comment so as to motivate posters
to be proud of how they post. I have mine own ways of
doing this, each individual is just that, an
individual.
You will know your success when you realise I do not
recognise the poster. This you acknowledge, and yes, I
"got" the tea reference immediately but the message was
way late as you had already dissed up poor old Herb..
in a sense.
I have at least two other recent 'pupils' who are
floating around having successfully "hidden".
Like you they are probably still getting comment and
polishing their new skill.. who knows?
Where is LMM? Do you know?
I do not.. and neither do any prying eyes.
So.. the point of my posting?
I am seeing one aspect of your threads that
displays you may not be fully up to speed on
nym (nim) changing/swapping. It is sometimes
important for a "regular" to have their personas easily
recognised when making comment. You see that made good
example of by my fanboi in assuming my name but unable
to copy my posting headers.
So, just in case you are not sure on the 'protocol' or
how to effect establishing "who am I" for yourself, I
point you to a thread which has info on the topic.
Highwinds lists the newsgroup..so two (2) swift left
clicks of the mouse on the MiD link will load the post
for you.
You can then grab the whole thread if you choose to.

To round that out, and finish this long winded post,
I attach a kind of rant I wrote just a few weeks after
subscribing to ABCP. Written then as many I read
treated the place as a trading store. A veritable
"I got this, you got that, post it and I will post
mine" type atmosphere. There in that attitude lies the
death of a group - to be avoided at all cost.
Education did not stop there.
Together with a very savvy Lady <5foot2> more than
400 hours of computer time was spent developing and
building those FAQs and posting tools you see around.
Both of us struggled with that project.
Neither of us expecting a result.
We simply knew a contribution had to be made.
Sadly <5foot2> is no longer with us to make her case
but (as I myself know) it is fact that despite
thousands of designs passing through our 'hands'
neither of us had any personal gain from that or any
other work, and that Lady worked hard at keeping posts
coming.
That was in just posting sets.. there is a lot more to
ABCP than simply collecting and distributing. It is one
of those facets that interests me. Thus, the only way I
will leave here is as has Don.. in a pine box :-]
I trust you will work through whatever is busting your
boiler and arrive at that place I and hundreds of
thousands of Netizens enjoy.
As I have just this minute read from one Netizen "This
is the digital newspaper and web pages are the glossy
magazines.".
...... give me a newspaper over a pRon magazine any day
of the week ;->
