Using "ground rules" as an expression I am bound to
tell you there are no "rules" as such for Usenet. Well,
not as you will find in other public "social networks"
like "Yahoo Groups" or other blog type interfaces.
What there are are "conventions".. these determine what
method works best to get files shared by all.
News clients of the quality of Agent adhere to those
conventions. Many others do not, making NG lists a
mess, at times.
The rest is probably just "common sense" and "good
manners".
Expect no more or less of others as you would of
yourself.. is maybe the best yardstick?
Whatever.. there is always someone hanging
around who will point a wayward wanderer in the correct
direction. The rest is up to the individual.
That individual stalking my posts is one who never did
"get it" and is totally pissed at being ostracized
because of his reactions.
I wrote those advices I pointed you to.. hopefully most
of what you see as "rules" today is covered as topics.
Where you have a query, a critique or you are just not
sure... simply post a "what the..?" and someone will
put you on freeway going at speed.

Just don't go there, apoligising.
Nobody is forced to read your posts, and even less a
number forced to respond.
What you encountered was a steep learning curve.
No harm done. Herb has now popped his head up
from the trenches and accepted your appreciation.
So it is all good :-)
How you now go forward is entirely up to you.
Read the advices posted and get that "list view" set so
you do know "who is who" and you can _see_ all the
posts. You will be missing out on a lot of stuff posted
at the moment. K?
