Hiya Polygon :)
I never actually thought about the 'long term' and files you post
becoming 'damaged' over time.
I would hope that there are people out there like Us that actually
archive this stuff for future sharing/posting... afterall... our
generation won't be around forever, someone needs to keep the data
flowing.
Torrents will eventually be stopped then it will be back to basics,
I.E. Usenet, FTP ... Superfast BBS maybe !?

I was only expecting you to make par files available to the few people
that have requested the reposts... not to keep them available forever

I have never actually tried out the '*.srr' file, which is always used
in the 'teevee' group but as far as I know its supposed to re-create
an exact (old) rar set from a newly created *.rar set... thats
supposed to be exactly the same !
I'm not suggesting that you do that, just thought I would throw that
in. I might have a play with it sometime... see if it actually Does
work.
Parity file percentage, I normally always post 7 - 10%. If people need
more than 10%... then they need a better server.
