You ought to check out the listings on binsearch for teevee using the
'browse newsgroups' feature. Hundreds of thousands of "software"
(probably virus) posts made by "killerjoe". So many that the listing
only shows a few, with the rest compressed in "view other ## posts by
killer joe" that you have to click to open. I have no doubt this is a
bot posting crap to clutter the listings, just like most of the
obscured filenames. I remember when that was the game in the warez
groups many years ago: flood it with crap so you couldn't find the
real uploads. I wish you could filter crossposts in that search
newgroups feature. Such a nuisance.

I checked a few posts of obscure filenames in teevee. Got an episode
of Wheel of Fortune and a real estate infomercial. A few others seemed
legit popular current shows, but I'm sure it's just mostly crapola.
Nothing an old duffer like me would want to watch, at any rate.

I hear there's some trouble with UK posters being gigged by their
'powers that be'. Something about torrents being stymied. Not sure how
torrents fit into their posting procedures. Shame, as there was a
tremendous amount of good documentary and news programs from  there.
I'm hoping they find a way to get around the bottleneck and can start
posting that stuff again. I miss Panorama, Horizon and Tonight's
materials, among others.

Glad I got into this stuff while the gettin' was still good.
