it's a shame that adults cant discuss a topic without
resorting to Hitler analogies and Nazi comparisons.
However this situation rouses strong feeelings
so it's not surprising if a little sad.
Anyway,for what it's worth here's my view
The UK isn't one country, it's a union of four.
Each with it's own history,culture & political identity.
2 of the countries overwhelmingly voted to leave, while
2 voted overwhelmingly to stay.
If it were one single country even if the vote was split
49/51 I would totally agree with RIB. Majority rule.
End of story.
However in this case, I find it incredibly sad that both
Scotland and NI have to risk their future and the future
of their children to the whims of people living in England and Wales.
I have never liked nor believed in the UK.
I totally back England's right to leave the EU, but I don't
see why two completely separate countries should be dragged
along for what is a very uncertain and nationalistic ride.
When the UK enterered Europe in the first place it should
have done so as 4 seperate nations.
As it is,
2 years ago Scotland voted to stay a member of a union that
was part of a much bigger union. That is no longer the case.
The deal has changed. So I very much hope that Scotland fights for a
second referendum on being part of the UK,that results in their
leaving, and allowing them to join the EU as their own country.
I would hope for the same to happen for NI but I fear that eventuality
is far to complex to achieve, at least at this time.
