There are two points to be made about this, and you've made one of
them. (I'd put it a little differently -- I'd say passwords cause
people inconvenience. And they may prevent some people from seeing the
post. Which is probably the point.)
Point two is that you have to respect posters. Especially a poster
like UVRae who has almost single-handedly kept this group active for
quite some time now. If UVRae chooses to protect ONE post out of many
with a password, then I would not question his judgment.
