I am very taken with his photographs, funny how some great work can slip
through the cracks. I am constantly discovering new (to me) artists in
what I thought was essentially a dead genre.
My secret for scanning large format books is an 11.7"x17" scanner. It's
also great for avoiding joins/combines on double page images. Pretty
pricey though, hard to justify the purchase if you only use it for
sharing nudies on usenet ;-)
Always a tough decision to crack the binding on a book you really like.
Yes, time is always an issue. I have nine books worth of images waiting
to be cropped and resized and many more books in my queue for scanning.
I am slowly warming up to Sturges' photography, did you ever see the
documentary about him? Very interesting indeed...
