topic is
require education for all adults on network TV
Dear Screen Actors Guild and Aftra and TV show makers and TV Viewers:
It is important that all adults who are employed as actors and
actreses on broadcast TV shows be educated enough to have completed
High School and 3 community college classes English 28 or higher,
Math 260 advanced algebra pre-calculus and one computer programming
class such as CS939 C++ programming or CS917 assembley language
programming techniques.
Each applicant who applies for a job as an adult actor or actress
will either show a community college transcript with Cs or better in
math 260 or higher and a programming class such as C++ CS939 or
CS917 assembler and either pass English 28 or assesment test qualify to
begin English 101 OR
Take the proposed new SAG assesment test that is offered only in English
that tests algebra skills at the Math 260 level and tests computer
programming skills so that people who have taken either CS939 or
CS917 or equivelent can pass that part of the test. Those who are
able to read the SAG assesment test in Math and computer programming
will be assumed to have passed English 28 equivelency for acting purposes
if they can read the English Language instructions and questions on
the SAG math and computer programming TEST.
The SAG math and computer programming
test will be graded by responsible wealthy people who do not
accept bribes.
A growing problem in recent years on TV has been stupider and stupider
adults getting TV show parts. They ruin the shows with their lack of
education and that causes ratings to crash so all SAG actors on the
show lose their jobs when the shows are canceled and some smart actors
with sag cards are sometimes denied parts because a stupid person unfairly
occupies time and space on the TV screen.
I am not requiring a college degree. Only 3 community college courses
such as Math 260 or higher and computer programming and either English
28 or being qualified to begin English 101 on the community college assesment
test.
Those who have not completed both Math 260 as a course with a C or better
and one of the computer programming classes CS939 C++ or CS917 assembler
will have to take the SAG math and computer programming competency exam
to get any part on network broadcast television.
You might wonder what started this new educational requirement.
On Monday, June 14th 2004 there was a 7th heaven program on Channel 5
that had a man with downs syndrome and a woman with downs syndrome
prepare to get married. They are both ugly and uneducated and were
about age 40.
Ugly people can sometimes bribe their way onto a TV show. Beauty is in
the eye of the beholder. They or their parents found a poor casting
director who needed the money.
The even harder part was bribing the scriptwriter to write parts for
Downs syndrome people into the script. Script Writers are NOT small
change artists!! The script writer probably required a bribe of at least
ten million per episode to add each unqualified character.
Uneducated adults waste TV screen space and time and take jobs away
from qualified educated SAG actors who did finish high school. It gets
worse when some character with downs syndrome ruins a show and the
ratings crash and the show is canceled so that even the smarter
characters who finished high school lose their Union acting jobs
when the show is canceled.
Please lobby SAG and the TV networks to enforce the educational
requirements above for all adult actors and actreses on network
TV shows.
After the SAG math and computer programming test has been around
a while all actors and actreses will take it. Nobody will be able to
get into SAG with just a fake degree from a diploma mill. The SAG
Math and computer programming exam will make sure all adults are
qualified to be on broadcast network television.
