Do any of you remember the 1994-1995 British TV so called Space Precinct?
It was very popular in Europe, but not so in Hollywood.
It was set in the year 2040 in another Solar System, but in had human cops
both fighting and investigating crimes committed by aliens as well as
humans.
It was played straight faced, but with a wry sense of humor.
The problem in the USA was, that Hollywood saw it as a children's program,
but were confused when it captured a more adult audience!
It was in really pure American cop attitude, but set in outer space.
Almost any of the TV episodes could have been set anywhere in modern day
America.
Perhaps that was the real reason it failed to get anything like a half way
decent TV slot.
