(CNN) -- Seven children, including an infant, died Wednesday when a
tractor-trailer rear-ended their car near Gainesville, Florida,
slamming it into the rear of a school bus that had stopped to let
children off.
The car, which was driven by a 15-year-old girl with a learner's
permit, burst into flames, killing everyone inside, said Lt. Mike
Burroughs of the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck was partially
burned, its cab overturned.
In Florida, it is illegal for a 15-year-old to drive without an adult
being in the car.
. . . . .
Tell me now ... what are this reporters priorities ? The
cause of the wreck was an 18-wheeler driver who didn't
stop for a car and unloading SCHOOL BUS (you know, the
GIANT YELLOW BOXES WITH FLASHY LIGHTS ON THEM THAN CAN
PROBABLY BE SEEN FROM OUTER SPACE). Didn't matter whether
the cars driver was 15, 115 or 5 ... yet the reporter
made a point of smearing the dead girl over her age by
the third sentence, seeming to implying fault just because
she was 15.
Sounds to me as if he's one of those "no driving before
age 21" nuts. Hey, given the concentration of ancients
in Florida, they'd set the minimum driving age to 65 if
they could ... so *everybody* would be driving 25 mph
in the fast lane with their left blinker on ......
