Hello to the newbies,
This morning I found a mail in the mailbox with the questions why I
encoding my postings.
Well, generally ALL post in Usenet will be encoded because Usenet was
originally for text only. Since pics, vids etc. are being post in this
pretty anarchistic community, must such postings be encoded. Until for a
few years it was with MIME and UU-Encode, now since a few years with
Ywnc.
MIME and UU are general direct to read (I believe it is calling a
"selfdecoding" encoding-programm), with Yenc the DL-er/DL-ster have to
need a newsreader like X-News, Agent (Pay Version), Grabit and go so on,
or,for Outhouse Express he needs a seperate proxy.
With MIME and UU-encode we as posters (and by reading you as DL-ers/DFL-
sters) as well, have 30-40% (!!!) OVERHEAd,
with Yenc the OVERHEAD is ONLY 3-4%!!!!!!!
Go to the retromode-group to see the difference between our famous

So, posting with Yenc is spare us as posters (AND the people who DL-ing)
more then less bandwith and time, it is then you have for the bandwith a
unlimeted account by your USP.
I hope to make this theme for the newbies with this post more
understandble.
