Please pardon my ignorance but I simply can't
understand the reason given for the return of vinyl
records that I just heard on the news: "Because it's
groovy." I know that was a pun and it is kinda clever
but it doesn't explain the reasons that I can
understand. It must be financial because what else
drives businesses?
We don't see a return of tube type amplifiers over
solid state even given the superiority of bandpass and
dynamic range of tubes. I can accept microphonics and
heat as good reason for staying with semiconductors.
Can anyone please put the reason for vinyl on other terms.
Thanks from an old tube electroniker,
Joe
