CD will stick around longer than many of the previous formats.
Many for two reasons. The buisness types are so deep into
lawsuits about CD and DVD rights and cross-use issues
that it will be another 5 to tens years before they get the
legalities straighted out.
Another reason is that CD is used quite a bit in computers
these days. Another that's where they get most of their
special-effects type stuff from.
