Thanks for the reply Jim.
I think Thunderbird would be fine - only I just discovered my ISP does
not carry "binary" news groups any more!! In addition the ones, like
this groups that do not have binary in the title appear to have the
attachments stripped.
:(
Aaargh!
Really don't want to pay for a separate news service, maybe time to
change ISP :\
