I agree, and same to Spider-Man!

I do believe that the reason that Batman, and Superman are most successful
is due to their live media exposure to the larger audience.

In the 1940s there was a live serial for "The Vigilante".  If this character
was used again for movies and television series in the 1950s and 1960s and a
few cartoons; he would be a high ranking hero as well.  In fact he would be
refered to as a modern day rendition of The Lone Ranger.  If Vigilante was
used as a series in the '60s he would probably have plenty of well known
villians created just for his show alone!

I do think it would be been great if Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Toyman,
Prankster, etc. could have been used on the George Reeves Superman series,
and it would perhaps keep the rating up into the 1960s!
